NSWC Update
We are thrilled to announce that the North Shore Women’s Centre has been chosen to be the recipient of proceeds from the 2012 North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament. The funding will contribute toward the 2-year start-up of a new and exciting program, the Complementary Health and Wellness Clinic, which will be launched in fall 2012.
Complementary Health and Wellness Clinic
The Complementary Health and Wellness Clinic will be an integrative health centre providing a broad range of complementary health care services - information, advice and treatments - with an emphasis on wellness, prevention and education, to support women living in poverty. Acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, homeopathy, chiropractic, massage therapy and reflexology will be among the modalities offered.
North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament
The North Shore Mayors’ Golf Tournament is a charity fundraiser endorsed by all three mayors on the North Shore. It has run successfully for four years and has raised almost $500,000 in that time to benefit needs across the entire North Shore. Each year a designated charity is identified to receive 50% of the first $100,000 raised, and the balance is shared by the two community foundations, who add it to their endowment funds.
